Job
Title: Scrum Master

Location:  Chicago, IL

Position
Type:  FTE/Permanent

Roles & Responsibilities:

Efficient
facilitation of Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Review,
Retrospective) and Product Backlog Grooming.

Supports
Product Owner and other members of the Discovery Team in the prioritization of
items.

Ensures
Product Backlog items are created, refined and estimated.

Removes impediments
or finds the right person and facilitates removal of impediments.

Aids the
team in applying action items from retrospective sessions across both Onshore
and Offshore teams.

Measures and
publishes Discovery/Delivery team health. Ex: Improving Unit Test Coverage,
Velocity, etc.

Ensures that
the team meets their “definition of done” for each Sprint and Release.

Ensures that
the team applies engineering practices consistently.

Addresses
inefficiencies and aids in maturing a team from Forming to a Norming State.

Collaborates
with SDLC (regular cadence) for sharing challenges, adoption of framework and
support with process improvements.

Collaborates
with the Project Manager in communicating team health, progress, risks and
issues that require visibility and external support.

Coordinates
with Onshore MSP lead (/liaison for Offshore Scrum Master).

 Role Specific Skills:

Preferred minimum of three years of
experience in playing Scrum Master Roles.

Applicable certifications preferred, e.g.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PSM1

Experience & Exposure Required:

Participates
in Scrum Master Community of Practice for sharing lessons and team-level
impediments.

Resolves
conflicts within the team.

Builds trust
with all members of the project team.

Maintains a
positive, calm and cheerful attitude.

Is
proficient in using Agile Software Delivery tool for creating releases,
sprints, managing users, adding risks, impediments, planning activities and
updating retrospective information.

Supports
other tools necessary for program delivery and reporting.
