Performance Engineer

Job Title:  Performance Engineer<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Roles & Responsibilities:

Review functional design and non-functional requirements and provide recommendations

Create Performance Test Estimates based on scope, requirements, timelines -Assessing risk to schedule, cost, or quality on project and testing engagement and provide recommendations on next steps

Preparing and managing 10-20 active project test schedule

Preparing and facilitating the implementation of test strategy and test closures

Ability to react to changing project plans and come up with creative alternatives

Organizational and planning skills

Analytical skills

Ability to work in a collaborative "team-oriented environment using and implementing best practice programs with respect to load generation, bottleneck analysis, usage of modeling tools and statistical analysis

Should understand the challenges and strategies to effectively implement performance testing in an agile or waterfall development environment.

 

Role Specific Skills:

Min of 3 years’ experience with Performance Testing and tuning.

Must possess a strong knowledge of enterprise application architecture and technologies including web, web services,.net, Java, Apache, JBOSS and VMWare.

Must be familiar with load test scripts in the following protocols: HTTP, SOAP, AJAX Flex, ODBC, and Java RMI

Must be able to perform in-depth analysis of load tests both in real-time test execution and in post-run review to determine test validity, triage root-cause of any failures, report on any performance issues or defects and identify and provide recommendations on next steps.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be familiar with real-time, user-facing testing methodologies and approaches.

Must be familiar with batch or background testing methodologies and approaches.

 

Experience & Exposure Required:

Min of 8+ years' experience in the performance analysis or performance engineering field

Must have experience managing minimum of 5-10 resources both onshore and offshore

Must have minimum of 3 years of strong understanding of the monitoring solutions and KPIs used to determine availability and performance of the technology stacks of the following: (Web (Apache), Application (JBOSS or Weblogic or Websphere), and Database (SQL or DB2)).

Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience using diagnostic tools like Dynatrace, HTTP Watch, Fiddler, IE and Chrome Developer Tools,

Have VBA coding experience, knowledge on AutoIT tool will be added.

Performing User Experience testing a must.
