029947-Senior Developer - Alteryx Technical Lead-NEW BRUNSWICK OR RARITAN, NJ


Strong Alteryx Technical lead required.  

Must have:

Advanced knowledge of self-service analytic/ETL tools, specifically Alteryx Designer.

Design and develop ETL workflows and datasets in Alteryx to be used by the BI reporting tool ( Not traditional ETL development to write database tables).

ETL specific for creating datasets (Tableau Data Extract/ Qlikview Dataset for BI tools)

• Will write SQL queries with multiple joins against oracle database and automate/manipulate these extracts in Alteryx

• Works in partnership with the DW team and other stakeholders concerning the accuracy of data and efficiency of processes

• Prepare technical specifications and documentation for Alteryx workflows supporting BI reports.

• Perform end to end Data validation to maintain accuracy of data sets

• Lead discussions with business partners to identify functional requirements resulting in data acquisition for BI applications

• Translate business logic from one system (Excel, SQL, etc) into Alteryx in a quick and accurate manner

• Develop re-useable processes that can be leveraged and standardized for multiple instances

• Understanding the star schema and data models in the existing data warehouse.

• Ensure application stability and performance by monitoring existing workflows to ensure they are working correctly and that they reconcile with the source.

• Provide  data analysis and support to business functions.

Advanced knowledge of SQL, database technologies and data warehouse design philosophies

Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities

Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel to analyze data and report results using pivot tables, charts and graphs


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Informatics or similar analytical field

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of related experience with Alteryx or similar (Talend, Pentaho) data extraction and manipulation tool.

• Minimum 3 - 5 years writing SQL queries against any RDBMS with query optimization.

• Ability to gather and document business requirements.

• Experience with Cloudera Big Data stack of technologies.

Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementing software systems. 

Experienced programmers are also responsible for interpreting architecture and design, code reviews, mentoring, guiding and monitoring programmers, ensuring adherence to programming and documentation policies, software development, testing and release.

Required Skills and Experience:

You assign, coordinate, and review work and activities of programming personnel.

Collaborate with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new programming methods.

Supervise, train, mentor junior level programmers in programming and program coding. Represent team in project meetings. 

Work with business and functional analysts, and software & solution architects in ensuring that programs and systems function as intended

Supervise, mentor and manage large teams of programmers in one or more projects.

Represent project teams in project/program meetings or in meetings with sponsor.  

• Qualifications:  6-12 years experience, Bachelor’s Degree.

• Must have experience in Software Engineering Techniques, Software Engineering Architecture, Software Engineering Lifecycle and Data Management.

• Should be proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Software Engineering Leadership, Architecture Knowledge and Technical Solution Design.
