Experience of 10+ years in IT infrastructure /middle tier/ application operations - services, sales and solution, covering the full sales cycle
Good understanding of full breadth of IT infrastructure/ middle tier/ application operations services and interfaces with other IT services
Experience in Sales or Account planning to achieve set targets
Experience in understanding client requirements and ability to create client specific solution for infrastructure services and presenting those
Knowledge about domain specific requirements various businesses like banking, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, retail, life sciences, media and entertainment
Good understanding of middleware, data base, data warehousing, business intelligence, collaboration tools and packaged software administration services e.g. understanding of Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache, Oracle, SQL Server, Informatica, Business Objects, InfoSphere/ DataStage, Cognos, SharePoint, SAP Basis
Should be aware of the latest trends in these technologies
Certification in one or more of these technologies will be desirable
Understanding of the support activities from monitoring to engineering and architecture levels is a must
Should have exposure to the solutions for automating the administration, operations activities and ticket resolution processes
Should have good understanding of the middle tier technology upgrade, migration and consolidation solutions
Experience in application operations and production support services, with specific processes and tools e.g. providing solution for and / or setting up application operations service desk for support up to level 2
Collaborating with the application development and maintenance teams to create an application support and operations model, based on common support requirements for applications across business lines
Should have exposure to the solutions for automating the ticket resolution processes
Ability to drive the discussions with senior client leadership and decision makers, on IT and business side
Proven experience in farming existing accounts and ability to open new accounts
Understanding of various staffing and operating models (onsite, offshore, near shore, shift operations)
Understanding of different pricing models (time and material, fixed price, managed services, unit of work etc.)
Ability to draft contracts and work through various legal, finance and procurement processes for contracting
Knowledge of ITIL processes
Good communication skills; including the ability to clearly articulate and differentiate offerings
Must be willing to travel, sometimes on very short notice
Understanding of following IT areas is also essential:
- Application Release (DevOps)
- Cloud technologies
