Work in small groups of developers through complete software development cycle.

Develop software to satisfy customer requirements.

Regularly participate in design and code review for company proprietary software.

May provide guidance to and assist in training less experienced developers.

Assist in providing technical knowledge for complex product design.

Handle special projects, as assigned.

Participate in all stages of agile / scrum software development to develop and support advanced data acquisition systems for drilling and well logging, control and data analysis.

Advance new ideas applying software architecture and design that can deliver software products to market in better, faster and smarter ways.

Work directly with product owners to ensure the delivered product addresses market needs.

Essential qualifications/requirements:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of rigorous software development experience.  
  • Experience in creating production quality reusable components and libraries. 
  • Experience in building applications using .NET, C#, VB.net, Visual Studio, SQL Server, and MS Entity Framework. 
  • Experience in developing unit tests with frameworks such as MSTest, NUnit or xUnit.NET.  
  • Experience in user interface design and development with WPF or Windows Forms and HTML 5. 
  • Good technical and problem solving skills with a drive for results. 
  • Must have excellent English written and verbal communications skills.  
  • Works well in teams and independently, manages time well and makes quality decisions.

Preferred qualifications/requirements:

  • Commercial packaged software experience is a plus. 
  • Experience with user control development toolkits such as Infragistics a plus. 
  • Deep understanding of how to apply design patterns. 
  • Experience in using source control systems such as TFS, Subversion, Git. 
  • Experience in using software build systems such as TFS, TeamCity. 
  • Active participant in software development community with keen interest in the latest best software practices and trends. 
  • Experience working on a mixed discipline Agile / Scrum / Nexus product development team. 
  • Demonstrated ability to conform to programming standards and release protocols.

Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementing software systems. 

Experienced programmers are also responsible for interpreting architecture and design, code reviews, mentoring, guiding and monitoring programmers, ensuring adherence to programming and documentation policies, software development, testing and release.

Required Skills and Experience:

Write software programs using specific programming languages/platforms such as Java or MS .NET, and related tools, platform and environment.

Write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs, such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment.

Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.

Perform or direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.

Write or contribute to instructions or manuals to guide end users.

Correct errors by making appropriate changes and then rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced.

Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.
