My rugby journey<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Why I got involved in Capgemini\u2019s Rugby Cup<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I had never been to France before, and I played American football, which evolved from rugby and requires some of the same skillset. I took my application very seriously and campaigned for votes, some of which were exchanged for beers. It really helped because I made excellent relationships with everyone at the office!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My most memorable moment from the trip<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Meeting the team members I had talked to for months on Teams! We bonded and became friends, as we spent the whole weekend together. We even won the first game and I was chosen as MVP, which felt good. It was a great team \u2013 everyone got along and we had a lot of laughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Capgemini journey<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My role at Capgemini<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve worked in finance my whole life. My company, Chappuis Halder & Co., became part of Capgemini Invent in 2023. Now I manage six people and my assignments range from strategy to risk, governance, and transformation in the wealth-management industry. My client site is busy and I spend all day there at least twice a week. One day a week I go into our Capgemini office in Montreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best thing about working at Capgemini Canada<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s the resources we have at our disposal. We have access to so much training, and it\u2019s great for my junior colleagues to be able to develop skills in things like Python and Power BI. The worldwide network is great, too. When we need more information or data, we can call India, France, or other places. It\u2019s very inclusive here \u2013 everyone talks to everybody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Capgemini values I relate most to<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Having fun is the value I relate most to. I want to have fun and make people laugh, especially when it\u2019s a stressful situation. It helps the team to not take ourselves too seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My advice to new team members<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Because Capgemini is so big, it can be hard to understand the structure. Talk to as many people as you can. People will take the time to talk to you. Schedule coffee chats and make time for training. There will be times when you\u2019re between client projects, so take advantage of it and get as much training as you can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How I\u2019m working toward getting the future I want<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The future I want is to see my mentees grow into new roles.
