MRB Stress Engineer

Key Job responsibilities:

As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, your skills in calculation and analysis will be called upon to support the aircraft programs in the capacity of static, fatigue, and damage tolerance stress specialist.You

will review, make recommendations, and provide final MRB (Material Review Board) stress approvals of reworks and repairs on defects produced during final assembly line, such as:

- Recommendations and justifications on acceptance of defects without repair.
- Removal and replacement of damaged parts.
- Rework acceptance will be based on equivalent strength capability, equivalent account stress levels and environmental conditions.
- The technical solutions are established for metallic and composite structures.

You will be responsible to -

- Work in close collaboration with Liaison Engineers by providing timely stress substantiations to a variety of manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Engage with Stress engineering team offsite to resolve key technical issues.
- Support the delivery process by providing technical expertise to delivery teams and external customers.
- Exchange information and collaborate with other FAL sites to ensure sharing of technical knowledge.
- Document analyses on stress work files.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor's degree in aeronautical or mechanical engineering as well as a minimum five (5) yeas of relevant experience.
- Material Review Board (MRB) or MAP experience in commercial / business aircrafts and / or previous MRB delegation is an asset.
- Experience in static, fatigue, damage tolerance analysis and finite element analysis.
- Good command of composite materials.
- Experience in design office (design or stress) of aircrafts structures (Airframe).
- Knowledge of stress calculations / justifications.
- Knowledge of aeronautical used materials.
- Able to work autonomously and be a good team player.
- Good command of English language (written and spoken). Being completely bilingual (French and English) is an asset.

Knowledge of the following tools:
- NASTRAN, PATRAN, HYPERMESH
- CATIA V5
- NASGRO
- MS Office (EXCEL and VBA programming)

- Enlèvement et remplacement des pièces endommagées.

- L’acceptation des reprises sera basée sur une capacité de résistance équivalente, des niveaux de stress de compte équivalents et des conditions environnementales.

- Les solutions techniques sont établies pour les structures métalliques et composites.

Vous serez responsable de-

- Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les ingénieurs de liaison en fournissant des justifications de contrainte en temps opportun à une variété de problèmes de fabrication et d’assemblage.

- S’engager avec l’équipe d’ingénierie stressante hors site pour résoudre les problèmes techniques clés.

- Soutenir le processus de livraison en fournissant une expertise technique aux équipes de livraison et aux clients externes.

- Échanger des informations et collaborer avec d’autres sites FAL pour assurer le partage des connaissances techniques.

- Documenter les analyses sur les dossiers de travail de stress.

Qualifications et compétences requises

- Baccalauréat en génie aéronautique ou mécanique ainsi qu’un minimum de cinq (5) ans d’expérience pertinente.

- L’expérience du Material Review Board (MRB) ou du MAP dans les avions commerciaux / d’affaires et / ou la délégation antérieure du MRB est un atout.

- Expérience en statique, fatigue, analyse de tolérance aux dommages et analyse par éléments finis.

- Bonne maîtrise des matériaux composites.

- Expérience en bureau d’études (conception ou contrainte) de structures aéronautiques (Cellule).

- Connaissance des calculs de contraintes / justifications.

- Connaissance des matériaux utilisés dans l’aéronautique.

- Capable de travailler de manière autonome et d’être un bon joueur d’équipe.

- Bonne maîtrise de la langue anglaise (écrite et parlée). Être complètement bilingue (Français et anglais) est un atout.

Connaissance des outils suivants :

- NASTRAN, PATRAN, HYPERMESH

- CATIA V5

- NASGRO

- MS Office (programmation EXCEL et VBA)
