“You don’t have to be afraid of making a decision someone might not agree with. You’re allowed to try and fail and try again.”

My journey with Capgemini

I was with Capgemini Sweden for two years before transferring to Capgemini Canada. I reached out to the leadership team in Calgary and joined the team. Since then, I’ve worked on everything from project management to sales, to internal structuring, social events, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. People wear multiple hats around here but it’s fun and very entrepreneurial.

What I like about Capgemini

It’s the people. Everyone is always so nice. And it’s not a hierarchical structure. We’re decentralized, so your title is what you do, not where you’re positioned in the company.

We are also given autonomy to make decisions and it all goes back to our values and culture. We believe that our differences make us stronger. Everyone here supports one another.

Reasons I am proud to work at Capgemini

We actually live our values. Capgemini has had the same values since it was founded in 1967: honesty, boldness, trust, freedom, fun, modesty, and team-spirit. That’s pretty impressive.

We have an annual company volunteer day where we give back to the communities where we live. I was involved in Cares Day in Calgary. We went out to Prince’s Island Park to help clean it up. Most of us spend our summer days there, so it was nice to give back to our community.

My advice on joining Capgemini

You can go as far as you want to, and I am proof of that. I switched continents and have had the opportunity to try different things. You can deep dive into your career or just take your time and figure things out. Capgemini will support you and make sure you feel like you’re in the right space to deliver the best possible results.

How I am getting the future I want

I tend to focus on whether I enjoy what I do, who I work with, and the company I work for. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of different areas including communications, business process design, or sales. They’ve been great experiences and I feel good about the things I’m working on, which makes me happy.
