Rail companies face pressure to meet government-mandated deadlines.

Despite a collective rail industry view that it is desirable from a safety perspective to have Positive Train Control-compliant systems in place, railroads tend to see the current government mandates and deadlines as problematic for any number of reasons, including: size of scope, lack of funding and untested interoperable technology.

Based on our experience and research, Capgemini believes Positive Train Control (PTC) cannot be treated as just another project initiative but rather as a major Business Transformation Program. We believe we have the right combination of people, processes, and technology to help railroads meet many of the challenges posed by the PTC mandate.
