Capgemini Cares!

Capgemini Cares Day is a tradition for our team members in North America and it is my favorite event of the year. Our annual community service program unites Capgemini employees from all business areas across the United States and Canada to volunteer in our local communities. In some cities, local clients and partners participate alongside employees in Capgemini Cares Day events.

Each community supports a local organization from food banks and homeless shelters, to park clean-ups and more. We have a core planning team that spans across functions and strategic business units, and our team members still have the freedom to choose which organization(s) we want to support. Capgemini Cares Day demonstrates our commitment to the 7 Core Values.

Lee's Summit Team

This year, I joined our team in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for a day of volunteering at Harvesters – The Community Food Network. I had a great time working with my colleagues to organize and pack food which will go to people in need. We packed nearly 500 cases of food, each of which will feed a senior citizen for an entire month!

Our service has a direct (and positive) impact on people’s lives inside and outside our communities. I am proud that Capgemini supports these efforts. Capgemini has more than 50 community events in North America each year, but Capgemini Cares Day is unique in that it unifies so many people together in service in so many cities. 2016 was a hallmark year for Cares Day and we not only met but exceeded our previous goals in many ways.

Charities We Supported

Thank you to the 1900+ volunteers from Capgemini this year. You’ve helped us toward our goal to “touch one million lives by 2020” and made a fantastic impact on your community. Our teamwork made a difference in so many communities around the US and I am looking forward to doing even greater good in 2017!

Mel Larkins joined Capgemini in 2014 with the Innovation and Digital Services strategic business unit, with a focus on client work in the telecommunications sector. Combining this experience with an MBA in Global business and a B.A. in International Environmental Policy, Mel has joined the North America CR&S team as the Environment & Community Project Manager. She drives growth in our North America Environmental Sustainability Program and Community Engagement Program through systemic project management by maintaining and building connections across functions, strategic business units, and executive leadership teams to execute sustainable solutions.
