What drew you to a career at Capgemini originally and how has the company changed since?

My love for technology and the rapid changes in IT. Capgemini, being a large consulting company at the forefront of technology, and having career opportunities to access multiple technologies makes sense to me! The Testing service line has grown exponentially and almost quadrupled since I started, which has meant greater footprints at some clients and working with many other Capgemini consultants. Its been great for my career.

What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?

I definitely make time to greet my colleagues with a smile before settling into emails. Generally attend a scrum stand-up meeting, and then dive into meetings and work. Currently I’m working at a large corporate as the Engagement Manager as well as Test Lead. I’m involved with all aspects of testing from planning all the way to “go live” and collaborating with all stakeholders involved. I also ensure that our automation framework is maintained for any future automation test projects.

Tell us about your work life balance at Capgemini?

I’ve made a conscious effort to set boundaries for working overtime and ask myself these 3 questions. Is it necessary? Can this be done tomorrow? How will this affect my health if doing too much overtime? There are days where working overtime is necessary, but I try to ensure it’s not long-term so that it doesn’t affect my health. It’s also about having discussions with your Manager on how to get the time-off (balance) back, and being flexible.

Manager in the DevOps space, leading Continuous Testing.

How would you describe the culture at Capgemini?

Capgemini is a learning organisation. Very fast paced, yet collaborative and driven by sales, achievements.

What has been the most empowering moment in your Capgemini career journey?

Being a Manager I get many opportunities to lead with empathy and lead by example. It also means I get to ‘listen’, get feedback and then to use my voice to evoke change.

What are you passionate about in your role?
