Capgemini headlines the European power platform conference in Brussels

Capgemini was the headline sponsor at the European Power Platform Conference (EPPC) held in Brussels between the 11th and 13th. June.  Double in scale compared to 2023, the EPPC ‘24 had 2000 attendees from 44 countries with 114 speakers, 10 immersive full-day tutorials, 2 keynotes, and 96 breakout sessions.

The conference kicked off with a keynote from Sangya Singh (Vice President, Power Platform Automations, Microsoft), and Ryan Cunningham (Vice President, Power Platform Applications, Microsoft). Some of the key highlights included:
– 85% of Fortune 500 are using Microsoft AI
– Microsoft Power Platform is the number 1 most-adopted low-code platform
– 330,000 organizations use AI capabilities in Power Platform
– Copilot automation is moving from rule-based to outcome-based.
– 1 billion new applications will be built by 2028 (Source: IDC). Increasingly these will be intelligent apps infused with AI.

We also marked our presence at the EPPC highlighting our thought leadership and presenting client stories to the audience.

Peter Ruiter (Solution Architect and Cloud Domain Lead at Capgemini) along with Maarten van der Beek (CTO Eneco eMobility) presented a case on Real World Results with Microsoft Copilot for Customer Service.

Peter Ruiter and Olaf Herzig, Principal Solution Architect at Capgemini, made a presentation on Extending Microsoft Copilot in Dynamics 365 Customer Service to Make Your Agents’ Life Much Easier!

Claire Edgson, CTO Microsoft Customer Experience at Capgemini, conducted a one-day tutorial on Best Practices in Power Platform Architecture, a session on Enterprise Ready Power Platform Security and another session on Empowering your Business to Work Faster with Data.

Carl Cookson, Microsoft Solution Architect, conducted a full tutorial on Getting Hands-on to Create Amazing Things with Microsoft Dataverse, and a session on the hot topic of Managed Environments.

Negar Shahbaz, Cloud Solution Architect, conducted a session on No-Copy Data Integration & Analytics with Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric.

Kieran Holmes, Power Platform Capability Lead, and Emma-Claire Shaw, Low-Code Product Manager and Consultant at the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), spoke on why the Microsoft CoE Starter Kit is a must-have when it comes to implementing a Power Platform Governance Model that works!

Amidst the productive and insightful discussions at the event, we had our in-house artist in Rohait Ganger sketching pictures of conference attendees.

Our client event also held engaging discussions on scaling Power Platform, the future of app creation, and opportunities with AI.

On Day 2, we also had renowned speaker Dona Sarkar who drives Copilot and Extensibility at Microsoft, speak on the benefits and pitfalls of AI, and the important considerations as Copilots mature to autonomous agents.

Highlights for some of our team (apart from the waffles and chocolate!) included:

“As System Integrator for well know brands and organisations we have been able to connect and share our thought leadership but also connect clients to speakers to further discuss their challenges and opportunites.”

Collin Vermeulen, Microsoft Customer Experience Lead, NL

It’s amazing to see the Power Platform community is growing rapidly.

The platform has grown over the last few years into being the cornerstone of application development where we can use it to create business critical applications rapidly, cost-effective, and ready for the future.

The interaction with more than 2000 visitors and all of the success stories & hands-on experiences shared were truly amazing!”

Peter Ruiter, Principal Consultant

“EPPC 2024 was an excellent experience with nearly double the number of attendees from 2023. Presenting to 200 people alongside our customer is testament to the strong relationship we have and the eagerness to share the market leading work we are pioneering in the Power Platform space.”

Kieran Holmes, Senior Solution Architect

EPPC highlighted the transformational era we are embarking on. Not only the experiences we are creating for our customers and employees are changing but how we are building and creating these experiences are also changing.

Welcome to an era of intelligent value creating apps! We were elated to be at the EPPC and as a team we are looking forward to seeing our clients and the community at PPCC in Las Vegas in September as well as the EPPC 2025 in Vienna.
