Capgemini partners with Hello World! to support and increase competence in coding among children and adolescents

08 Jun 2018

Stockholm, June 8, 2018 – As part of its ambition to be architects of a positive future, Capgemini today announced a collaboration with Hello World!, a non-profit organization which aims to help to strengthen Sweden’s future competitiveness by promoting digital creation. As part of the collaboration, Capgemini will train and educate children in coding and programming.

Sweden is a nation leading in digital development with technology companies like Skype, Spotify and Klarna founded there, and where programmers are the most common profession in Stockholm[1]. However, a recent report by Capgemini’s Digital Transformation Institute shows that there is a widening digital talent gap, with half of the organizations in Sweden saying the gap has been widening in their organizations over the past couple of years. To help address this, Hello World! organizes summer camps and meetups where kids learn to code and explore all the magic one can create with digital tools.

”Our goal is to light 10,000 digital stars before 2020. With the help from Capgemini and its network we can grow even stronger and reach out to more kids. Our partners are crucial for our existence and we are more than happy to have Capgemini with us on our journey,” says Dag Wolters, Founder and CEO Hello World!

As part of the relationship, Capgemini will focus on digital inclusion and future skills for children in Sweden by helping to educate and train children in coding and programming.

“We are very pleased to partner with Hello World! This initiative fits perfectly into our ambition to leverage our competence within digital transformation by supporting kids to become digitally savvy and creative for the future needs of Sweden as a digital nation,” says Anil Agarwal, Head of Capgemini in Sweden and Norway.
