Festival, Food, and Fun – Capgemini Belgium celebrates Diwali

It was a very special evening at our Capgemini Belgium office in Wintergarden, Diegem, a few weeks ago as our colleagues celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights. For most of our colleagues, this was their very first experience celebrating this festival.

Vincent Toussaint, People Unit Manager at Capgemini Belgium shares, “This has been a fantastic moment to learn more about Indian culture and have a lot of fun with friends and colleagues.”

Over fifty-five colleagues across different businesses attended the event decked up in Indian ethnic wear to celebrate and enjoy the evening. The evening also had special prizes for our best-dressed colleagues.

The special highlight of the evening was a traditional ‘rangoli’ (design) contest, where our colleagues impressed everyone with their artwork and creativity. This was also followed by some exceptional talent displays–featuring song and dance performances, and a quiz session!

Adriana Mocanu from the Financial Services team shares her experience – “It was the first time I took part in the Diwali organization and celebration! I was happy to help and use my creativity and DIY skills for decoration. Diwali is a perfect celebration. It has lights, colors, music, dance, and amazing food. As a participant, I felt welcomed and learned so many things about the importance of Diwali. A big shout out to Khushboo who was patient enough to help me put on the sari.”

Deb Ghosh, our colleague from the Agile team, shares, “It was a feeling of being with family and members are just your known ones. Yes, that’s how we live in Capgemini Group. We connected more than ever and spent time with lots of fun, laughs, dancing, and much more. We had colleagues singing and dancing and just made the impression of “1 Capgemini family”. I am sure next year, with our BE leadership and their immense support, we will be able to scale and bring our spouses-children and create a gala moment.”

Keeping in tune with our fun values at Capgemini, our colleagues got to bond with their friends and taste fine Indian cuisine for dinner.

Post-Diwali the team is excited as they gear up for the holiday season! Missed the celebrations? Check out the wonderful pictures clicked and shared by our colleagues here:
