About the Role

As part of this growing  team you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of Australia’s largest and most complex strategic technology initiatives. Many of our clients are household names and you’ll often have the chance to see the success of your work directly reflected in the community. You will be using your expertise in front end languages HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and Polymer to vastly improve the end user experience. You will write quality well-tested code and investigate the simplest solution to a given problem whilst keeping  security, accessibility and open standards in mind. Key parts of the role will include:

  • Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies as needed
  • Participate in the design and implementation of application features for large web applications
  • Adhere to and help refine coding best practices
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI designs
  • Optimize applications for speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other team members in an agile environment
  • Support web applications throughout the development cycle and in production
  • Develop and maintain automated tests
  • Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews

About you

We are looking for developers who are great communicators and have an enthusiasm for learning new frameworks and technology stacks. You will play a pivotal role in building and developing services that are easy for everyone to understand and use, with a focus on web standards, usability and accessibility.

Ideally you will also have experience with Kubernetes, and Cloud (GCP) with an ability to work with a “DevOps” mindset and have experience in most of the following:

  • HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Building responsive web applications
  • CSS pre-processors such as LESS/SASS/Stylus
  • Writing SPAs with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Backbone, Knockout, Ember, etc.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning practices/tools such as Git, Mercurial, SVN
  • Creating/consuming REST APIs
  • Continuous integration tools and practices
  • Proponent of iterative development, ability to break large problems into small deliverables
  • Strong desire to learn technologies and understand best practices
  • Node and server-side JavaScript frameworks such as Express, Hapi, etc.
  • JavaScript build tools such as Grunt, Gulp, Webpack, etc.
  • React/Redux
