Our Cloud Infrastructure Services (CIS) practice brings together the right technology, processes and culture to deliver business agility and cost reduction to our clients. We provide cloud focused client advisory and delivery services on areas such as hybrid cloud, workplace services, security, service desk and cloud service management/delivery.
Let’s talk about the role and responsibilities
- DevOps (development-operations) Engineer facilitates collaboration between the development and operations teams in order to achieve increased productivity.
- Oversee the efficient release and use of new software code and products.
- Applies Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) concepts to software development, deployment and operations.
- Designing tools and processes for managing infrastructure.
- Working on multiple platforms across different programming languages.
- Automating workloads across multiple cloud providers.
- Automating testing and deployment processes.
- Providing support to internal and external stakeholders on multiple platforms.
- Creating tools and processes designed to increase user satisfaction.
- Managing version control via Git and similar systems.
- Code development and review, source code management tools, code merging.
- Responsible for supporting the users of the infrastructure they develop, and the first line of defence is protecting the cloud against hackers and viruses
- Site Reliability Engineer focuses on the system infrastructure including network, storage and availability management.
- Responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.
- Developing automated solutions for operational aspects as on-call monitoring, performance and capacity planning, and disaster response.
- Acts as the bridge / liaison between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration problems and issues.
- Devops includes SRE.
