Scrum7 FAQs

1. How is Scrum7 related to Rugby?

Inspired by our association with the World Rugby Sevens as the Global Innovation Partner, Scrum7 brings together cutting-edge sport-tech start-ups, leading university rugby teams, experts from our Applied Innovation Exchange and industry leaders.

2. How are the start-ups selected?

Our global Applied Innovation Exchange network will scout and select start-ups. They will organize a selection/induction day, where a shortlist of qualifying start-ups will be invited. From this pool, the top six start-ups (1 per theme per AIE) will be selected.

3. Can any start-up apply?

Any global sports-tech or technology start-up with applications in the contest categories of performance or experience can apply. These start-ups will have to get in touch with an AIE to qualify for application by 31st March 2018.

4. How are university rugby teams selected?

We will select teams from among the worlds leading university rugby sevens teams. They will engage with competing start-ups to test and refine their solution.

5. When will the winners be announced?

The two winning start-ups – one per theme – will be announced in May at VivaTech. They will then attend an innovation event in July in San Francisco.
