On the morning of April 17, 2018, representing Capgemini’s Business Services, I stepped onto the stage at the “28th World Congress on Leadership for Business Excellence and Innovation” – held by the Institute of Directors (IOD) India in Dubai – to collect the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for Business Excellence.
As I accepted the award from the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State for Tolerance, His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, I couldn’t help reflecting on just how far we’ve come. This is the third consecutive year that Capgemini has won a Golden Peacock award, and the second consecutive Golden Peacock Award for Business Excellence – an achievement that is a testimony to the brand equity Capgemini enjoys in business excellence.
The Golden Peacock Awards are widely perceived as a benchmark of corporate excellence, and this award recognizes:
- Our strong capabilities in offering integrated solutions by leveraging our structured frameworks
- Our track record and innovative models used to deliver better value and outcomes for our clients
- Above all, the highly talented people at Capgemini who have helped transform the Group into an industry leader.
One example of the success that led to this award is the way we’ve transformed our own Group Finance function through deploying robotic automation to deliver enhanced business outcomes. Our CBS FA shared services engagement implemented Capgemini’s ESOAR (Eliminate, Standardize, Optimize, Automate, and Robotize) methodology to streamline and standardize F&A processes, before deploying robotic automation, to emulate and automate the manual activities involved in invoice creation.
This led to a range of tangible process efficiency and competitiveness benefits that included over €1.5 million in savings for the Capgemini Group against a target of €1.3 million, a 91% improvement in accuracy, and a 75% reduction of invoice processing from 20 to four minutes per request. Winning the Golden Peacock Award for Business Excellence is no mean feat. It validates the success Capgemini has achieved in driving transformation and delivering value to our clients. I dedicate it to all our employees.
