Capgemini is a proud supporter of the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (D/FWMSDC), which is the leader in advancing business opportunities for certified Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business enterprises. D/FWMSDC connects businesses to its Buying Entity Members (corporations and public sector agencies) in an effort to increase procurement engagement and enhance supplier diversity. 

The D/FWMSDC, which is one of 24 regional affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), is the certification body of choice by corporate America and the recognized business link for over 3,500 buying organizations and 14,000 certified minority-owned businesses nationally. Their “BUY THOSE THAT BUY US” ™ Breakfast recognizes buying entities for their participation in submitting their numerical scorecard received from D/FWMSDC, which identified best practices and confirmed diversity spend.

D/FWMSDC is focused on providing its stakeholders the services they need to excel. Outlined below are their 5 initial Strategic Imperatives, for which action plans are being developed:

SI 1 – INCREASE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES – Increase business opportunities and utilization of certified minority owned businesses.

SI 2 – BUILD CAPACITY – Provide tiered programming and tools to develop and grow minority business enterprise capacity.

SI 3 – ADVANCE DIVERSITY PROGRAMS  – Improve Supplier Diversity programs focused on minority business utilization.

SI 4 – IMPROVE ORGANIZATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE  – Improve overall organizational infrastructure to meet the expectations and needs of our stakeholders.

SI 5 – ENRICH CHAMPIONS – Enrich and build influential business champions advocating on behalf of minority business inclusion.

At the recent D/FWMSDC BUY THOSE THAT BUY US (TM) Recognition Breakfast, Capgemini was among 37 leading corporations and public agencies who received recognition from the D/FWMSDC for our work in the utilization and development of minority-owned businesses in the North Texas area. The Annual BUY THOSE THAT BUY US (TM) Recognition Breakfast honored the executives, chief procurement officers and supplier diversity professionals for their continued commitment to the inclusion of minority businesses in their purchasing decisions. This year’s honorees reported total spend of more than $3.1bn with minority-owned businesses in 2015!

To realize success, we must continually update our message and marketing to reach more corporations and government agencies to join supplier diversity efforts. Utilizing minority-owned businesses in our supply chain provides innovative ideas, more efficient processing and cost-controlling solutions as well as helps build the economic success of North Texas.”

It provides documented metrics of the corporate members progress, as it relates to spend with Minorities, provides an avenue for continued advocacy of Minority Business inclusion, while also recognizing the Buying Entity Partners, such as Capgemini.”
