The books are getting thicker
IFRS (through IASB and US FASB) want more information on assets and liabilities of companies. Would this include the Cloud?
Change your thinking on ERP roles
We are all working around a strange dilemma. Due to the economic recession, investments have been postponed and maintenance to ERP environments brought down to the minimum. On the other hand we see a great effort from traditional ERP vendors to broaden their control of the stack, but more important to innovate around the end-user of their systems. The final GO from SAP on their acquisition of Sybase is a good example.

The Buzzword Facebook Effect
It’s amazing how the right buzzword can galvanise interest even in the dullest of topics. Think seamy tabloid headline meets uber-cool geek speak, and you’ll get the picture. Social media monitoring – putting software before vision and strategy
Regular readers of my blog might gasp in horror at the notion of putting software before vision and strategy. I’ve written a number of posts advocating the definition of a vision and strategy before enabling that with people, processes, technology… See “The Emperor’s new Social CRM clothes” or “How can we prevent a Social CRM bubble”. Both posts focus on the mistakes of the first generation of CRM – technology-centric, inside out, monolithic, lack of CRM vision or strategy… So why on earth did I recently recommend a client look at software before building their vision for Social CRM?
Numbers don’t count
So what do these numbers tell us? Actually not much, it shows how many accounts there are on Facebook or how many apps there in the app store, however they doesn’t say a thing about the value of these numbers or even the relevancy for you. Still it seems, we like these numbers very much. They are big numbers and we often associate these numbers with success. Maybe that is the reason that people often use the same empty, non relevant numbers in their KPI for social media campaigns.

Conversation Intelligence – What are your customers talking about online
In one of my previous writings I wrote about why companies shouldn’t invest in monitoring tooling. Companies should not invest in monitoring tooling when everything they do with it, is just faking engagement. Since what normally happens is that this becomes so “customer service” oriented that people forget the true power of listening and engaging with your customers, partners, and employees.
