The trend towards globalisation is leaving its mark on information technology (IT) and the IT function, where outsourcing and offshoring are becoming common issues and considerations in company boardrooms. New concepts and innovative approaches for delivering IT are emerging. Over the past few years, Capgemini’s clients have shown an increasing appetite for considering IT delivery options and alternative sourcing strategies, as well as addressing the challenges facing the internal IT department. The purpose of this survey is to present the attitudes of CIOs of major companies and organisations in the European market, on the burning issues that they are facing. How is IT currently being organised? What is the strategic agenda for change? What are the challenges and concerns raised by the adoption of new IT delivery and sourcing models?
The survey is based on one-to-one interviews with over 160 CIOs, across 12 European countries, with representation from all industries.
