A great deal has already been written about the how and the where of Services, mostly from technology vendors driven by the need to get their products into use; very little has been written about the why — and if it has, it is based on technology choices, too.
Put simply the technology argument for Services is based on cost reduction and flexibility, an appealing proposition for the CFO and the CIO with hard-pressed budgets.
