World Mail Awards 2005
Congratulations to United States Postal Service — Innovation Award Winner!
22 June 2005
Capgemini’s commitment to stimulating best practice and innovation in the postal industry is evident through its continued sponsorship of the ‘Innovation Award’ at the annual World Mail Awards. The 2005 World Mail Awards in Brussels was once again attended by more than 300 delegates from companies who lead the industry—be it through innovation, technology, or quality of service.
The ‘Innovation Award’ recognises new ideas and initiatives that deliver value to mail users, irrespective if they are technology-related. United States Postal Service had a ground-breaking Intelligent Mail® system offering tracking and special services through advanced barcoding. The entry proved a worthy winner.
Charles Bravo, Senior VP of Intelligent Mail & Address Quality for USPS collected the award from Erik van Dort, Head of Capgemini’s Distribution practice. Said Erik: “USPS has demonstrated its commitment to enable data capture and automated end-to-end visibility in the mail stream, and I believe that this will fundamentally redefine the industry in the future. I know that the judging panel had some very strong nominations—demonstrating the investment by the postal industry in creating innovative solutions and the power of these new developments in driving improvements for postal customers.”
Capgemini’s distribution practice works with 14 of the top 20 global logistics service providers, including Deutsche Post World Net, Exel, FedEx, Kuehne & Nagel and TPG, as well as other key postal operators such as La Poste and Poste Italiane.
