Nicolas Dufourcq appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Capgemini Group

Nicolas Dufourcq has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Capgemini Group.

13 September 2004

He replaces William Bitan who several months ago decided to step out of this role to pursue his career in other domains. Nicolas Dufourcq will also be in charge of Corporate Development and Risk Management.

Having joined the Group exactly one year ago as Head of the Central & Southern Europe region, Nicolas Dufourcq has strongly contributed to instigating a return to profitable growth in the countries for which he was responsible (Germany and the former Eastern European countries, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy). The Group’s decision to appoint an operational manager in this financial function is an illustration of its willingness to restore and reinforce the links between corporate finance and our major business units.

Graduate of the prestigious French schools the HEC and the ENA and former Inspector of Finance, Nicolas Dufourcq is 41 years old and is married with three children.

From 1992-1993 he was a member of the cabinet of Jacques Barrot, Health and Social Affairs Minister, and in 1994 joined France Telecom as Executive Director successively or simultaneously in charge of internet, the cable, private television channels, directories, minitel and fixed telephony.

In 2000, Nicolas Dufourcq was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wanadoo, internet subsidiary of France Telecom which, with global revenues of 2 billion euros and a headcount of 7,500, became one of the leaders in this market.
