Lucent Technologies Selects Capgemini for Information Technology Services Agreement

Applications Development and Maintenance Agreement With Additional Consulting Services Will Help Streamline Lucent’s IT Applications Portfolio

NEW YORK and PARIS – May 11, 2005 – Capgemini, one of the world’s leaders in consulting, technology and outsourcing services, announced that Capgemini America, Inc. signed a multi-year information technology applications development and maintenance services agreement valued in excess of $100 million with Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU), a leading designer and supplier of systems, services and software that drive next-generation communications networks.

The application management deal builds on previous consulting engagements at Lucent, where Capgemini has played an integral role in multiple projects involving Supply Chain Operations, Quote-to-Cash, IT Delivery and Work Processes.  Capgemini is using the full breadth of its consulting, technology and outsourcing business units to help Lucent streamline its IT application portfolio to support the company’s strategic direction.

“This contract is further proof that our North America recovery program is working and Capgemini is on the move again,” said Tony Madrigale, Lucent account executive for Capgemini. “By combining our transformation consulting capabilities with a global outsourcing approach, our goal is to improve service levels and help reduce costs for Lucent’s IT operations.”
