CGE&Y launches Total Cost of Ownership Initiative for SAP® Solutions
New Offering To Help Maximize Return on IT Investments and Reduce TCO
30 September 2003
The Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Group (“CGE&Y”) announced today the launch of a new Total Cost of Ownership (“TCO”) Initiative for SAP® solutions. The initiative help customers to maximize return on IT investments by reducing the TCO and providing a platform for continued business innovation. Critical cost savings will be achieved through an aggressive program of actions focused on generating additional business value from existing investments. The solution leverages a comprehensive portfolio of offerings, including SAP ValueUpgrade, SAP Run, Rightshore TM and the integration with SAP NetWeaver TM , the open integration and application platform that drives lower cost of ownership across heterogeneous IT landscapes.
One of the toughest issues facing technology executives today is how they can extract more value out of existing investments in software solutions. Executives are focusing efforts on containing the cost and consistency of their SAP systems, while increasing operational flexibility through a better integration between SAP solutions and their disparate systems. This involves understanding the TCO impact of their future investments.
“This new initiative will help our clients to identify an optimal cost saving strategy and growth path to operational excellence and innovation” stated Chell Smith, CGE&Y Global Director of Technology Services. “Clients can now identify and implement positive changes in the cost of operating their overall IT environment, enhance integration between SAP solutions and the organisations other systems and optimise the business processes that are supported by SAP NetWeaver.”
“CGE&Y is taking to market a truly differentiated offer, rooted in deep SAP solution knowledge and broad experience, to produce optimum, tailored solutions and best value returns for any given set of operating conditions, states Miguel de Fontenay, CGE&Y Global SAP Alliance Director . ” SAP NetWeaver and the evolution into a services-based architecture provide us with the unique opportunity to assist our clients in determining when and how best to evolve into an architecture that’s more flexible, drives innovation and reduces TCO.”
“In a world where the need for integration of systems is a consequence of doing business, SAP and CGE&Y are jointly committed to delivering solution integration at the lowest possible TCO,” said Stephan Rossius, senior vice president, global partner management, SAP AG. “Working closely with CGE&Y and leveraging the SAP NetWeaver platform, we will be able to build a technology environment that allows our mutual customers to innovate as they adapt new business processes that span their entire IT landscape.”
