CAP GEMINI ERNST & YOUNG GROUP 2000 provisional results

The most reliable non-audited figures currently available show the following :
- revenue to be published by the Group should be 6,917 million euros, that is an increase of 60.5 % on that of December 31, 1999 (4,310 million euros)
- operating income should be 691 million euros (that is exactly 10 % of revenue), an increase of 47.3 % on that of last year (469 million euros).
On a pro-forma basis, that is including Ernst & Young’s Consulting businesses as from January 1, 2000 instead of May 23, 2000 :
- revenue should reach 8,457 million euros compared to 7,674 million euros in 1999, that is 10.2 % growth, in line with what was communicated on August 9, 2000 (« around 10 % »)
- operating income should be 890 million euros compared to 786 million euros for 1999, resulting in a 10.5 % operating income margin, again in line with the guidance mentioning a « 10 to 11 % bracket ».
Full 2000 consolidated and audited financial statements for the Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Group will be presented and commented on March 15, 2001.
For 2001, the Group’s objective is to achieve a revenue of 9.6 billion euros (at constant exchange rates) and to slightly improve its operating income margin.
