Capgemini Selected by the Southeast Consortium* in the US to Implement a single Unemployment Insurance Benefit System across three states: South Carolina, North Carolina Division and Georgia

Paris and Reston, Va., December 19, 2013 – Capgemini Government Solutions LLC, a subsidiary of the Capgemini Group, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, today announced the signing of a contract worth approximately $60 million with the Southeast Consortium Unemployment Insurance Benefits Initiative (SCUBI). The contract will cover the design of both technical and business processes, as well as development and implementation of a multi-state Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits system.
The contract for SCUBI was awarded after a competitive tender process, recognizing Capgemini’s experience as a leading provider of Unemployment Insurance modernization solutions and services. The consortium selected Capgemini’s AcUlty Unemployment Insurance Benefits solution, which comprises Capgemini system integration and implementation services and is part of Capgemini’s Ready2Series2. The single AcUIty solution by Capgemini will replace the three states’ current individual UI systems and provide many new services, such as self-service portals for claimant filings and employer claim management. It will help increase agency performance through integrated business processes designed specifically for UI program administration, allowing improved assessment of eligibility for and more accurate payment of unemployment insurance.
 
The Capgemini solution is designed specifically for state-level UI benefits management and addresses high-volume and complex financial, eligibility and claims management requirements. The solution combines highly advanced rules-based information retrieval with workflow and case management processes. Capgemini’s AcUIty will enable UI agencies to improve the timeliness and quality of information gathering and guard against improper payments, with a focus on prevention of improper benefit payments rather than recovery. The solution for SCUBI features a cloud-based, infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform.
