Cap Gemini Ernst & Young implements SAP R/3 at Prosonic 

Providing Prosonic with a competitiveness increase thanks to a SAP-enabled process swift is Cap Gemini Ernst & Young's challenge.

Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, one of the largest management and IT consulting firms in the world, is in the process of implementing SAP R/3 at Prosonic, the exclusive representative of Panasonic's professional area in Portugal. Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in Portugal (CGE&Y Portugal) has the full responsibility of this project, from management to installation and configuration of the support infrastructure, implementation and personalisation of the SAP R/3 solution, process reengineering, application and infrastructure management. The end purpose of this implementation is to provide Prosonic with a management integrated platform that guarantees the availability of the information means that are most adequate to the operation's performance and to a level of control and management that corresponds to the business needs. 

The project has two phases. During the first phase, CGE&Y Portugal is implementing a SAP R/3 solution, and adapting it to Prosonic's needs, as well as changing some of its business processes. 

The project's second phase is about the management of the application, as well as of the entire infrastructure that supports this solution. This implementation will drive to a significant improvement in Prosonic's internal operations. All Prosonic's employees will therefore benefit from this project.

Prosonic is the exclusive representative of Panasonic's professional area in Portugal, and is the outcome of the recent merger process between Papelaco Comercial and three other companies associated to the Japanese brand (Papelaco Técnica, Papelaco Vídeo e Sistemas de Segurança and Papelaco Som e Imagem) which opted out of the Papelaco Group from January 2001 for strategic reasons. Thanks to the synergies developed by the various business areas, together with a more pro-active and dynamic structure, Prosonic is able to provide its customers with integrated solutions in Office Equipment, Telecommunications, and Professional Audio-Video and Security Equipment.
