Business System Crucial in Mölnlycke
Health Care's Global Expansion
Stockholm, Sweden -November 12, 2001 -- Cap Gemini
Ernst & Young Sverige AB (CGE&Y) today announced that Mölnlycke
Health Care, the world's leading supplier of single-use surgical
products, is continuing to invest in the business system SAP
R/3. After successful implementations in the Nordic countries,
in Belgium and the Netherlands, a new contract worth around
Euro 8 million has now been signed for a continued roll out
in 13 additional countries. CGE&Y has once again been
chosen partner for the roll out.
The co-operation between CGE&Y and Mölnlycke Health Care
started in the autumn of 1999. At that time, Mölnlycke Health
Care took the important re-structuring decision to choose
SAP R/3 as their global business system. The task of implementing
the system was given to CGE&Y that had so far managed
the implementation in the Nordic countries, in Belgium and
the Netherlands.
The continued roll out concerns some 13 further countries
in Europe, North America and Asia. The project also includes
integrating the new business unit, that Mölnlycke Health Care
acquired earlier this year from the American company Johnson
& Johnson, into the SAP system. By quickly integrating
the acquired business into the SAP system, Mölnlycke Health
Care intends to achieve large direct synergies on a global
basis. In the long term, the target is that the coordination
of production, logistics and purchasing will provide great
rationalisation profits.
"The business system is an important part of our expansion
strategy and when the system is in place we will have an infrastructure
that will ensure that Mölnlycke Health Care can at least double
its business without further investments. CGE&Y has shown
that they can deliver complex implementation projects on time.
So they have our continued trust," said Mats Nilsson, CFO
at Mölnlycke Health Care.
"Mölnlycke Health Care is a very offensive company and a
customer that knows what it wants. We are very pleased to
continue our close collaboration with Mölnlycke Health Care
and to assist in the creation of the infrastructure for their
global expansion," said Leif Jönsson, CEO of Cap Gemini Ernst
& Young Sverige AB.
Mölnlycke Health Care's SAP solution encompasses all parts
of the company's business activity. The technical platform
is supplied by Worldcom and Sun Microsystems.
