Gemini Ernst & Young implementation sets telecom start up on fast
track to success
Paris,
31 January, 2001-Deutsche LANDTEL, German subsidiary of European
telecommunications provider LANDTEL N.V., has accelerated its entry
to the German broadband market with the implementation of Portal
Softwares best of breed voice- and data-enabled customer management
and billing software platform to offer a wide range of innovative
voice and data services. The convergent solution is based on Portals
Infranet® platform and circuit-switched voice products Portal
acquired last year from SOLUTION42.
The
convergent software platform enables Deutsche LANDTEL to bill both
voice and data records from a single platform and to process up
to 45 million call data records an hour, rating voice services from
mobile, fixed and Web sources in parallel. With Portals real-time
technology, Deutsche LANDTEL can quickly bring the new services
to market, generate new sources of revenue, improving customer satisfaction
and reduce costs.
The
Deutsche LANDTEL solution is the first fully implemented next-generation
solution which brings together the real time capabilities of Infranet®
and the new product sets resulting from the Portal acquisition of
SOLUTION42. The entire system implementation was executed in just
a few weeks by Cap Gemini Ernst & Youngs Telecom Media
Networks.
"There
is little doubt that the pace of the telecommunications market is
quickening and that our ability to get such a comprehensive customer
management system up and running so quickly has provided us with
a distinct market advantage," said Berend Koerber, CEO of Deutsche
LANDTEL. "We have an aggressive growth strategy in this market
and have selected the best convergent customer management system
which was flexible enough to adapt to evolving product offerings
and yet could scale as necessary to address significant growth."
Alexander
Haeffner, CEO TMN said: "Portal Software and TMN have been
partners since 1996 and we have completed over 50 successful projects
together for the worlds leading communications providers.
Converged teams are continuing to work together on a range of projects
in various international markets."
Steve
Sommer, Vice-President Marketing and Business Development of Portal
Software, states: "In joining forces with a company that is
at the forefront in the telecommunications marketplace as well,
our customers benefit from our joint knowledge expertise, and complementary
capabilities."
