Equiva Services LLCs Extensive Online Petroleum Program Supported by Genuitys Internet Infrastructure and Cap Gemini Ernst &Youngs Application Development and Integration
Burlington, Mass., December 6, 2000 Genuity (NASDAQ: GENU) a leading provider of Internet infrastructure for eBusiness, and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young U.S. LLC (Cap Gemini Ernst & Young), a leading worldwide advisor to the energy industry, have teamed to provide an end-to-end eBusiness service for Equiva Services LLC. Equiva Services is owned by Equilon Enterprises LLC and Motiva Enterprises LLC, the U.S. joint ventures between Shell Oil Company, Texaco Inc. and Saudi Refining, Inc., a Saudi Aramco affiliate. The alliance of Genuity and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young will provide a full spectrum of eBusiness services, including complex Web hosting, security, application development, integration and support for Equiva Services eBusiness applications. These applications include online programs to supply and market gasoline and other petroleum products under the Shell and Texaco brands.
The multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement calls for Genuity and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young to leverage their Internet expertise and advanced applications development and systems integration across the companies eBusiness initiatives to deliver rapid Internet application deployment.

Genuity and Cap Gemini Ernst & Youngs collaboration on this project offers services and support for more than 30 new and existing applications, including:
- Enhancements to existing Internet applications, such as ordering, buying, online collaboration, customer service, B2B exchanges and developing new applications;
- Application hosting and infrastructure support, including network access, security, server maintenance and data center management;
- Internet applications support, including preventive maintenance repair and performance tuning;
- Back-office integration that consists of building interfaces between the Internet application and Equiva Services legacy systems, including SAP, and
- Implementation of a first-to-market wireless solution that allows real-time work order processing from field repair technicians.
