Cap Gemini Joins Siebel Systems’ Alliance
Program as a Strategic Consulting Partner

BURLINGAME, Calif. and PARIS — Jan. 8th, 1999— Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL) and Cap Gemini, S.A. today announced a strategic alliance to assist companies plan, deploy and support Siebel’s Enterprise Relationship Management (ERM) solutions.

Siebel’s world class sales, marketing and customer service applications, coupled with Cap Gemini’s leading experience in management consulting and information technology, will enable companies to effectively plan, design, build and run customer management solutions.

Cap Gemini will provide more than 300 consultants to assist companies with Siebel implementations in Europe and the US. Siebel implementation services will be a key part of Cap Gemini’s global Customer Relationship Management offering that helps companies maximize the lifetime value of customers through technology-enabled marketing, electronic commerce, sales automation and call centers. Cap Gemini will support Siebel globally through its group organizations covering Europe, North America and South East Asia, as well as through its global vertical market segment strategy.

In addition to working together to develop "ERM best practices", Cap Gemini will showcase Siebel’s application in its state-of-the-art solution centers across Europe and the US. The objectives of these centers are to provide effective business simulations for prospective customers and help them find solutions to better reach their customers and improve their profitability.

Cap Gemini will provide its ERM implementation through its unique, ISO 9000-certificated PERFORM-IARO (International Applications Roll-Out Methodology). Customers will benefit immediately from this more efficient integration process

Cap Gemini also uses Siebel on a worldwide basis to run its sales management operations.
