High Net Worth population rises to over 10 million, with assets reaching $40.7 Trillion, as average HNWI Wealth surpasses $4 Million for first time, reveals 2008 World Wealth Report

Globally, the High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) population grew by 6.0% in 2007, to a total of 10.1 million individuals. HNWI population gains were particularly strong last year in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Latin America, advancing by 15.6%, 14.3% and 12.2% respectively and outpacing more developed nations. These gains Global wealth continued to consolidate in 2007 — a trend we have reported for the past 12 years — with the assets of the world’s wealthiest individuals accumulating at a faster rate than the growth of the overall HNWI population. Growth in HNWI wealth outpaced growth in HNWI population in all regions.
