Identifying Key Trends in the Third Party Logistics Industry
For over 10 years, Capgemini has taken a proactive role in gaining a better understanding of the Third Party Logistics (3PL) industry.
We collaborate with the Georgia Institute of Technology, DHL and SAP to conduct an annual study of 3PL industry developments.
A Global Study
The study examines critical trends and issues in key markets and for customers in the 3PL industry. It has strong industry representation, with almost 1,500 participants from different industry sectors around the world. The study holds workshops with 3PL users in Chicago, Paris, and Shanghai in order to understand their needs and the issues within different regions of the world.
Key Objectives of the Third Party Logistics Study
- Examining the use of 3PLs in emerging markets, including China, India, Russia and Brazil.
- Identifying key elements of contracting with 3PL companies – to create beneficial situations for both customer and provider.
- Understanding what 3PL customers expect from their provider – with a view to strengthening partner relationships.
- Providing a strategic assessment of the future.
- The findings of the study are published annually, usually in October.
