The culture at Capgemini really influenced my decision to work here. I knew I wanted to work for a consulting firm, but what stood out for me with Capgemini was the leadership style and the way it takes care of its employees. Another important factor for me is the opportunity to use both technology and consulting services in the same business.

I started as a consultant in the Java Group, where my main activity was programming. I wanted to start my career in Technology, so that I could get a better understanding of this, then I wanted to move onto a different platform, where I could combine this with Consulting Services. Capgemini made this possible. Now working in Business Intelligence, my role combines these two services.

My colleagues are very friendly and we have the opportunity to participate in many different activities outside of work. I also like the fact that each day is different to the next. We are always confronting new challenges in our work.

I wanted to meet colleagues outside of work, and the Capatholon seemed like a perfect opportunity. I have built up a network of people that I might not have met otherwise. I also enjoy competing. It’s fun to take part; to excel at the things you do well and to try out new activities.

As a project leader for a private market, managing the subcontractors and all the people involved can be quite a challenge. I’ve had to really focus my people skills. Often it’s not the technology that is the main barrier to overcome, but the customs and politics of different organizations. The key is to devise project plans that everyone can commit to.
