Inmaculada

“Combining a successful career with a family takes commitment and passion. It’s never easy, but with the right support, it is possible!”
– Head of Travel and Transportation, Capgemini Spain, with Capgemini since 1990

After obtaining a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Navarra, Inmaculada spent 2 years in Operational Procedures in a regional bank before joining Capgemini Group in Madrid, in 1990.

Inspiration

“I decided to become a consultant because I wanted to learn more and have different experiences. I was looking for greater variety in my work, and I wanted to obtain the global vision of a major enterprise,” says Inmaculada.

Development

Having started out as a confirm consultant, Inmaculada was swiftly promoted to senior consultant after 6 months and to manager 3 years later. There followed what she refers to as a “standby period” in her career: “I wanted to have children, but also to do justice to my studies and to succeed in my professional life. Capgemini offered me flexible hours and a supportive framework, which enabled me to do both.” Two years after having her first child, Inmaculada came back to work full-time and is now Head of Travel and Transportation.

Life at Capgemini

“What’s special about Capgemini is the work environment. The spirit and culture is very important; you are surrounded by people who are motivated and have similar aspirations. Working in business consultancy you also deal frequently with top level management. What’s great is that you can learn a lot from them, but you also have the capabilities and the power to influence them.”

Dedication

“One of my greatest challenges was when I worked on a very important transformation project. We had ambitious objectives, but the team was solid – we worked well together and got great results, as well as winning the client’s lifelong confidence! Succeeding at a project like that is extremely fulfilling.”

Time Out

Inmaculada’s children are now 12 and 13. She says, “When I get home from work I put on my teacher’s hat and help them with their homework!” She also likes to head off with her family to the mountains for some skiing or to the beach whenever possible.
