Health and Safety

Health and Safety in the workplace is an important feature of human resources and facilities management. Fortunately, the Group’s businesses do not involve high-risk activities. Health and Safety responsibilities are taken very seriously and the company has specific processes in place.

At a minimum across the Group we abide by all local Health and Safety legal requirements. Our Health and Safety policies are focused on information, instruction and training covering:

  • Accidents, First Aid and Work Related Health Issues
  • Disability
  • Safe Handling, Use & disposal of Hazardous Substances & PPE
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Guidelines on Capgemini employees working on client sites

Through our Risk Management procedures Capgemini Group is selective on which countries/locations our employees can work. In countries where there is greater risks for our employees, Capgemini has steps in place to protect them, including emergency repatriation.

Wellbeing

Our offices around the world have introduced initiatives to promote employee wellbeing including:

  • work-life balance programs, including home-working,
  • stress management,
  • improvement of employee-manager relationships,
  • better working conditions.

New learning & development modules provide work-life balance programs covering issues such as “stress and vitality”, “conflict prevention” and health.

Acting Locally

  • Capgemini in Sweden has introduced a web-based personal trainer offering individual advice about diet, exercise and other health and lifestyle issues. Within days, 50% of Swedish employees had signed up for the program. The company also supports the principle of working flexible hours, or from home, when feasible.
  • Capgemini in North America has improved employees’ work-life balance by changing to a more geographically-based organization which focuses on local employment and management.
  • Capgemini in India gives awards for project-based high performance and outstanding achievements to enhance employee wellbeing and satisfaction.
  • Capgemini in the Netherlands has launched work-life balance workshops for working couples and working singles with children.
